Vegetables can be blanched and frozen, so even when winter sets in and the garden rests, you’ll still have the fresh taste of your homegrown produce ready to elevate your meals. How it works
When you sign up with Sow and Share Farms, you become part of a vibrant cooperative. Here’s how it works:
1. Join the Community: Sign up to become a member and gain access to our network of managed backyard gardens. Membership includes an initial consultation to understand your space, preferences, and needs.
2. Garden Design and Setup: Our team of expert gardeners will design a customized garden plan tailored to your yard’s specific conditions. We handle everything from soil preparation and plant selection to installation of irrigation systems and garden beds or aquaponic setup.
3. Ongoing Maintenance: There are weekly and biweekly plans we offer for a comprehensive, ongoing maintenance plan designed to nurture every aspect of your yard, ensuring it remains productive, beautiful, and sustainable year-round.
4. Harvest and Distribution: As your garden produces, we carefully harvest the produce. You’ll receive a portion of the fresh, homegrown fruits, vegetables, and herbs, while the rest is shared with other members of the cooperative. Excess produce is canned or blanched and frozen for use later.
5. Enjoy the Bounty: Receive a variety of fresh, homegrown produce from other members’ gardens, delivered right to your door. Our delivery system ensures you get a diverse selection of seasonal fruits and vegetables every week.
